Dior by Galliano: The New Look That Broke the Internet Before the Internet Existed
John Galliano's Dior years (1996-2011) produced fashion's most theatrical decade. The vintage market is only now catching up to its significance.

John Galliano's tenure at Dior was fashion's last great theatre. A Dior bias-cut gown from Galliano's Spring 1998 couture recently sold for 47,000 EUR at a Paris auction. The vintage market for Galliano Dior splits into three tiers: couture runway looks (30,000+ EUR), ready-to-wear runway pieces (1,500-8,000 EUR), and Galliano-era accessories (400-1,200 EUR). In Paris, the hunt is concentrated in the Palais-Royal arcades and Canal Saint-Martin. The most undervalued Galliano Dior: the menswear, dramatically under-documented.
