Loewe is older than Louis Vuitton, more technically accomplished than Prada in leatherwork, and for most of its history, completely unknown outside Spain. That changed in 2013 when Jonathan Anderson became creative director. The Puzzle bag (2014) is composed of 75 individually cut leather panels. The pre-Anderson archive — 160 years of Spanish leatherwork — is dramatically undervalued. A 1970s Loewe doctor bag can be found for 300-500 EUR. Barcelona is the capital of Loewe vintage sourcing. First-generation Puzzles from 2014-2016 trade at 40-60% of retail. Investment targets: 1980s Flamenco clutches (200-400 EUR), 1960s leather jewellery boxes (150-300 EUR).
